The Hades/Persephone Myth On Live TV!
On The Bachelor Peter Finale, Madison was there, and Peter and Madi both affirmed they loved each other. They broke up a few days later due to the great animosity towards her coming from Peter’s parents on live TV! A true spectacle worthy of the best Greek Psychodramas. Nevertheless, I still feel Peter and Madison were meant to be, despite the worst of obstacles, but they met too soon. The timing was the main reason for their relationship not having taken root at this time. They both have a strong Saturn and are too young for marriage, according to their charts. They are both late bloomers. Even though Madi presents herself very maturely, she still needs a few more years before she finds herself and makes a true conscious choice. I spoke about that in my previous blog. So for now, they are not a couple, but who knows if the future will bring them back together? Only they know the secret bond they created.
My analysis comes exclusively from the horoscopes of this couple and I am not sure I have the correct charts. In addition, it is difficult to not be swayed by the storyline the producers of this TV show wished to portray to always attract more viewers. Their purpose is to create twists in the plot and absolute drama to entertain and earn money. Contestants clearly know the rules of the game ahead of time, and should not sign up if they are afraid of misleading and unfavorable edits. In addition, due to the immense popularity of The Bachelor series, speculations and rumors online and social media are abundant. Above all, I trust the potential the charts show, but there is always free will. It will always be up to Peter and Madi in the end.
So, with that said, do Peter and Madison have the potential of a “happily ever after” in their future? The short of the long answer is: It’s complicated but a resounding yes! Let’s proceed in order.
First the archetypes at play in their respective charts tell me that no matter what, this challenging love story was meant to be. The unconscious patterns active in the astrology were confirmed by life so far. At the time of the finale, Peter and Madison were still willing to explore what they had, going against his family’s opinion. Read my last blog to understand the myth of Demeter, Persephone and Hades, that both Peter and Madison are channeling. This is a typical case of “life imitates art”, art being the symbolism of the birth charts explaining the deep personality dynamics at play and the presence of all the characters and events to facilitate the unconscious development of this couple’s story.
Peter has a strong “abandonment issue” in his own natal chart. Scorpio rising with Pluto (mirroring Hades) on the ASC square his Sun Jupiter conjunction. I like to see a pattern confirmed at least three times in the wheel before I declare it. I have more than enough evidence here with yet another one in Sun opposite a retrograde Saturn! Peter’s chart screams rejection and the experience of loss and shame. As a therapist, I feel for him and for his family, as those cell memories will play the default program creating unwanted behaviors, no matter what, until we consciously decode the movie we are enacting. In my opinion, even though Peter’s mother is the voice behind this painful disapproval, the pressure comes from the father or a male authority. Perhaps the signatures in the chart mean that Peter’s father sides with his wife against his own son. At the worst manifestation of this pattern, which is not Peter’s case, we are talking about the father disavowing, disowning his child. Either Peter bends to the will of the authority figure and loses himself in the process or he rebels but pays the price of losing a harmonious tight relationship with his family. It’s a painful no win situation, until he matures out of the pattern. Does he have the courage? Yes! It is displayed in his Sun Jupiter in Leo. He has the heart and the positive spirit that will help him through this. He also has extraordinary resilience, shown in his Scorpio rising with Pluto on the ASC. He will always rebound, rise back up from the ashes.
Peter’s horoscope indicates he had a traumatic birth where there was fear of losing him or that he was an accident, unwanted or that it was difficult to conceive him? With the best of intentions, such a powerful archetype speaks of Peter coming to this life with an imprint of trauma felt by his environment (doctors, parents etc.). Perhaps Peter’s mother, Barbara, almost died or had serious medical complications around his birth, and there is tremendous fear of loss of mother or child or both? Perhaps there was a painful abortion before Peter, or a baby died in this family or in the previous generations. There is a family secret that needs to come to the light for this family to heal. I am sure of it! Unearthing it, bypassing all taboos is vital, for the benefit of all parties involved. This is extremely relevant as the person then unconsciously repeats the energy of abandonment throughout their life until they bring awareness clarifying their behaviors and choose to start healing the wounds. If they do not uncover the origin of the wound, they will pass it on to the next generation and so on… At some point, someone volunteers to heal the family tree and it feels to me as though Peter volunteered, his soul did! The tragedies experienced in many families are because the people unconsciously replay and repeat, each time making the symptoms worse, as seen on national television in this case.
Madison also has a powerful Pluto, who is astrology’s Hades, in her birth chart. However, her Pluto is well aspected to other planets and trine her stellium (Saturn Mars Mercury Sun). She can help Peter heal! I have much more than three signs here as well, with in addition, her North Node conjunct Chiron (the wounded healer) opposite her Sun. She is meant to be with a man who needs profound healing from an “abandonment” issue. Peter has his Chiron opposite his Saturn, confirming that the original wound of separation, severing of ties comes from the father’s line.
By the way, that original psychological scheme can be lived at the physical and/or emotional level at the ancestors level (above in the family tree), in the womb, at birth, and/or in early childhood before age 6. It then gets repeated in life by attracting people and events to mimic our own imprint, so we may re-experience the pain of physical and/or emotional rejection. With potent Plutos, we can manifest any combination of the abandonment, at times, so ever subtle. Often, it is not a glaring abandonment/adoption story, we have loving parents but one or both may not be emotionally present or able to truly hear us. The parents themselves may have tremendous difficulties in being in touch with their feelings and expressing their emotions. Often, one parent may express the abundance of both parents’ feelings. If interested, I elaborated with my own examples as a child and in turn as a parent on the Pluto theme in those two previous blogs.
As the unconscious will have it, Peter embarked on a cathartic journey that would bring to light all his issues in an explosive way due to the fact that they were exposed to the entire nation, over many months. No one is at fault here, not the producers of The bachelor/ette, not the contestants on the show, not Peter, nor his family. Everyone contributed to the play to reveal what needs healing. Poor Peter was humiliated on national TV four times! The first time when he was rejected by The Bachelorette Hannah Brown, then when she rejected him again when they reunited on The Bachelor, then by Madison when she left Australia and then by his family because he chose Madi. He submitted himself to this and in addition to his appearances on television, he probably suffered many prior abandonments. He also most likely rejected others first by fear of being denied later. It is a vicious cycle. As a matter of fact, on this show, he ended up hurting Hannah Ann even more by getting engaged to her first before resorting to breaking up anyways, because his heart was not in that relationship in the first place. He was so afraid to lose the approval of his parents that he chose to acquiesce but then realized he could not. Later, he may have ended up “abandoning” himself by choosing peace with his family over his love for Madi? She may have decided to walk away from disharmony between her and his family? They both carry the “All or Nothing” Pluto vibe.
That brings me to Peter’s Moon square his Venus that I alluded to in my prior blog. It reflects the psychological Madonna-whore complex that he is a catalyst for internally. He will attract women in his life with whom he plays out this inner tension. In essence, it is a conflict between the roles of wife (Moon) and lover (Venus) or a tension between mother or family (Moon) and love partner (Venus). It was on full display on live TV the last two nights of The Bachelor Finale! However, Peter’s Venus square Moon also confirms that Peter is living his life very wisely, much more so than his parents are willing to give him credit for. When he said “trust my choice”, he was right! This Venus Moon signature encourages a young man to be a playboy and enjoy his sensual and sexual life to its fullest before marriage. This combination tells the story of a Don Quijote before commitment and a very faithful husband after the sacred vows. Peter was meant to taste life fully before engagement because deep down he knows he had to get it out of his system prior to falling for the love of his life, Madison, who is his Soulmate and potential future wife. Barbara knows her son now but may not understand his future potential.
Madison does not have a Venus, nor a Mars problem. On the contrary, they have the potential to be very happy! It is unfortunate that people project their own fears on this couple. Perhaps, later, Peter and Madi may give their love story a chance. I could see Madi’s parents “adopting” Peter. From her chart, I see a very solid and loving family unit and a promise to be supportive of their daughter Madi and her choice of spouse, Peter. The reason I feel Madison is attracted to Peter is that she needs him (his chart) to fulfill her life potential. It is not all roses for her either. We usually fall in love with the perfect partner from a Divine stand point. Marriage is not a walk in the park in general and in their case, they may experience the worst hurdles before marriage. I have a feeling they would be ok, once wedded.
I do not see struggle between Madi and her own mother (indicated by her Moon) as she is also symbolized by Madi’s Venus, which is ruling the IC, representing the mother and family. I am envious of Madi’s extremely down to earth loving Venus. She has such a grounded, sensual, feminine, beautiful, spiritual and optimistic Venus. Such a gift! That Venus embodies who Madison is as a woman and lover as well as her mother in this case. Madison’s Moon opposite Pluto speaks of potential tension with her mother-in-law, regardless of who she will be. At the same time, Madi being the daughter-in-law can heal some deeply buried unconscious (or not) wounds between mother and son. It appears Peter and his mother have a close bond, but it may be too close, due to the unconscious fears of loss I spoke about earlier. At some point, the son will take his flight (pun intended) and the mother may feel abandoned and hurt. Ironically, Madi has it in her to bring everyone back together. For the readers who do not know, Peter is an airplane pilot.
Now, it will be up to these two families to heal their grievances if Peter and Madison are meant to be. We shall see… in a little while. Remember that ideally, both are meant to marry later, in about four years. That is my take, let’s see what happens…
